About Groove Woodworking Studio

Groove Woodworking Studio is a collective of artists and makers inspired by the endless beauty of Polynesian hardwoods. Their passion for woodworking began early but flourished as they started creating artistic wooden furniture and art for themselves and their community.  

The collective enjoys working with live edge slabs—single pieces of wood milled from trees that have naturally fallen. Each live edge slab beautifully captures the tree’s natural form and figure.  

Always eager to explore their creativity through learning, the collective has recently expanded its craft to include eco-friendly epoxy. This innovative approach allows them to create mesmerizing epoxy-wood creations that possess a unique life of their own. The pieces in their live-edge collection leverage the natural strength of epoxy for structural durability while showcasing the vibrant canvas of the material. Rest assured, they continue to primarily work with single live edge slabs!  

Proudly committed to sustainability, the collective exclusively uses locally and ethically-sourced hardwoods from Aotearoa and Polynesia. Their creations feature materials like ancient Swamp Kauri, Koa, Macrocarpa, Japanese Cedar Monkeypod, Mango, Cuban Mahogany, Macadamia, Milo, and Monterrey Cypress, among others. With an extensive supply of both rare and common slabs, including 20,000+ year old ancient Swamp Kauri, they offer a remarkable variety.
